Laurie Moore – Fine Artist & Portrait Painter

Laurie Moore is a self-taught fine artist and portrait painter based in Indiana, originally from Waco, Texas. With a background in both surgical nursing and military service as a U.S. Navy IT specialist, Laurie’s journey to becoming a professional artist is one of resilience, passion, and dedication. Her work, known for its striking realism and emotional depth, has been exhibited in numerous juried shows and prestigious art fairs across the Midwest.

Laurie’s portfolio includes award-winning paintings featured in exhibitions such as the 81st Annual Salon Show at South Shore Arts, where she received a Merit Award for her painting Queen, and juried competitions like the Box Factory for the Arts MAAC Show and Art Barn School of Art. She has also exhibited at the South Bend Museum of Art and was an Exhibiting Artist in the Women’s Art Exhibition at Purdue University Northwest in 2024. Additionally, she participated in art fairs such as Penrod Arts Fair (Indianapolis) and was juried into the Fine Arts Showcase section of Art Beat in both 2023 and 2024, a distinction within the local South Bend event. Laurie has also showcased her work at community festivals like Rebel Art Festival and Edwardsburg Art Fair.

Laurie’s artistry extends beyond the canvas, as she has been commissioned for numerous portrait projects and private collector pieces.
