Artist Bio

Laurie Moore is an ambitious and emerging artist specializing in acrylic paintings with a focus on realism and photorealism. As a self-taught artist driven by a passion for personal growth, Moore is perpetually refining her skill. She continuously seeks to expand her knowledge while showcasing a commitment to composition, consistency, and accuracy. Moore’s artistic vision merges the analytical left brain with the creative soul of the right brain. Her meticulously crafted lifelike portraits invite the viewer to contemplate the human experience and view the subject through the lens of emphasis that hand-painted portraiture provides. She endeavors to captivate the viewer not merely with the scene itself but through her distinctive representation of it.

Born and raised in Waco, Texas, Moore’s artistic journey burgeoned from a rich tapestry of life experiences. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, where she served as an IT specialist, Moore relocated to Indiana, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in art from Goshen College (Class of 2018). In 2022, she made a conscious decision to depart from her fulfilling career in surgical nursing, prioritizing personal commitments like becoming the primary caretaker for her infant daughter. Notably, her artwork was previously loaned to the South Bend Museum of Art and is currently featured in permanent collections at the VFW in Waco, Texas, and the Genco Federal Credit Union in Lorena, Texas. Her pieces adorn both public and private collections spanning New York, Texas, Arizona, and Indiana. Moore’s most recent achievements include securing first-place awards in painting and mixed-media categories at the juried student exhibit held at the Hershberger Art Gallery in Goshen.
